About Hokkaido University Food Science Platform

Hokkaido is blessed with a safe, secure and high-quality ‘food’ based on the world’s prime natural environment, and is expected to play an important role as a food supply base in Japan. Based on this background, Hokkaido University launched the Office for Enhancing Institutional Capacity in February 2014 and established the Food Science Platform as one of its research promotion hubs. The Food Science Platform is a platform for collaboration among government, industry and academia to support the development and implementation of various food-related projects in Hokkaido.
