Organizational Structure

  • The Institute for the Promotion of Business-Regional Collaboration is positioned directly below the University President, who appoints our Executive Director from among the members of the Executive Board.
  • Our Steering Committee makes decisions on key matters.
  • Our Intellectual Property Committee deliberates on objections and other formal requests relating to the Hokkaido University Employee Invention Regulations.
  • Our Center for Innovation and Business Promotion develops personnel who will engage in industry-academia and regional collaboration and promotes the utilization of Hokkaido University's intellectual property.
  • Our Social and Regional Emergence Department promotes regional collaboration and develops personnel who will engage in regional collaboration. 
  • Our Startup Creation Department provides entrepreneurship education and support to startup companies established using HU's intellectual property rights, etc., while also developing the human resources required to run these companies.
  • Our University-Industry Global Development Office works to promote and strengthen international industry-academia collaboration, functions as a hub for our overseas liaison offices in North America, Europe, and Asia, and develops human resources who will engage in future global industry-academia collaboration.
